Location:  Lynn Roy’s home in Larkspur
(address and directions provided after rsvp)

Leslie Brier Bio:
Leslie Brier is on the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) Executive Committee and is the WRJ Representative to the UN.  Leslie discusses matters of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiments, particularly from her perspective of the UN and the global community.  She also discusses the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement aimed at Israel and how the response could use a more progressive Jewish voice from the Reform movement.

Leslie also collaborates with the Commission on The Status of Women to ensure gender equality for women around the world.  Currently, she is representing WRJ in the preparatory process for the Global Compact of Migration.  Participating in this process allows WRJ to give voice to its values regarding Immigration.  Leslie also works with the National Council of Synagogues to increase interfaith dialogue.  She is on the WRJ Speaker’s Bureau.

Women’s Mikva 9/17

Congregational Event 6:30 pm, Meet in sanctuary

We look forward to sharing the powerful ritual of mikvah immersion with you as we prepare for the High Holy Days. We will meet in the Rodef Sholom sanctuary at 6:30 pm for pre-mikvah reflection and ritual, after which we will walk together to the JCC, where we will enjoy a meaningful group mikvah immersion. You are welcome to bring a swimsuit if you choose. Additionally, we invite you to come dressed for immersion (bathrobe) so as to minimize changing time. We will have access to dressing rooms but our hope is to facilitate an easy flow from synagogue ritual to water. We recommend bringing a towel and/or robe to wear after the immersion and some warm clothes to change into for our post-immersion ritual and New Year’s toast. Please bring a small vegetarian food item to share for our post-mikvah celebration.
